Adapt is run by Josie Tucker and Richard Ashton. We run our own campaigns and communications in house. We work with different organisations on a commission basis, to help design, communicate and enable companies’ and organisations’ climate and sustainability related projects. Our visual communication work spans digital and physical design, copywriting, concepts, moving image, art installations, workshops and events.

Adapt has partnered with UK based sustainable knitware company EcoKnitware and pioneering digital knitting machine producer Kniterate to produce two scarf designs on a strictly made-to-order basis. The Fuck Your CO2 and Climate Justice Scarf can be purchased on above. EcoKnitware construct the scarves from yarn that is 90% wool, 10% Cashmere; both fibres are fully traceable and sourced from Lanecardate.

EcoKnitware are currently the only owners of a Kniterate machine in the UK, making this project a UK first. Kniterate is a digital knitting machine that wants to change fashion the same way desktop 3D printers are revolutionising manufacturing; minimising waste and enabling small production quantities. EcoKnitware are currently working towards collaborating with farmers, spinners and dyers in the UK, to create a locally produced yarn that matches the quality and feel of yarns sourced from abroad yet at a significantly reduced eco-footprint.

The yarn is 100% made in Italy. Lanecardate is among the few yarn producers able to control directly its entire supply chain: the greasy wool is purchased directly at source and combed, dyed and spun in Italy. Origin, traceability and compliance to the standards of Textiles & Health and TF are certified and guaranteed

23% OF SALES FROM ADAPT’S ‘FUCK YOUR CO2’ AND ‘CLIMATE JUSTICE’ SCARVES WILL BE DONATED TO CLIENT EARTH

Client Earth are a non-profit using the power of the law to bring about end-to-end systemic change: informing, implementing and enforcing the law, drafting and advising decision-makers on policy, building legal expertise, and ensuring citizens’ access to the laws that defend them.

Client Earth take governments to court, force polluting industries to shut down, protect irreplaceable forests and vulnerable species, empower people + NGOs with the legal rights to bring forward environmental battles of their own. They work to create real, long-lasting and embedded change.
